Our experiences are designed to promote and preserve traditional cultures and support local communities, the bulk of which can be found on our dedicated experiences page. But here, we want to highlight a few experiences that we think go above and beyond.
Tango Experience x Precious Plastics
Walking tour along the Japanese Sea, beach cleaning with locals, returning to a repurposed silk factory to make prodcuts from recycled plastic. This is the next level of beach cleaning.
Ine Countryside E-bike Tour
The village of Ine is so much bigger and wild than the boat house district. This guided e-bike tour will take you through the boat house village and out into the lush Tango Peninsula where you will stop for lunch at a farmhouse restaurant.
Hondo Fisheries
Environmentally minded, this fishery is focused on rebuilding fish habitats, limiting catches, and other sustainable fishing practices. Hop aboard to see where they raise the country’s best shellfish, learn about rebuilding fish habitats, and even stop by their restaurant to sample some of their seafood.
Iio Vinegary Brewery visit
The only vinegar brewering in Japan that does everything from growing their own pesticide-free rice on local terraces, to sake production, vinegar making, even running their own high-end Italian restaurant with locally sourced ingredients. Visitors will be treated to a brewery tour and an unforgettable vinegar tasting.
