Spanish bar where you can enjoy fresh local ingredients

Owner and chef Goji Ono opened the Spanish bar Goziami in 2014, following in the footsteps of his popular izakaya “Ami☆ken” in neighboring Mineyama. Mr. Ono refined his cooking skills at hotels and famous shops in Osaka and Kyoto. The yakitori (grilled chicken), which is a staple on the menu at “Ami☆ken,” is here as well, but with Spanish flare. The menu at Goziami features “pinchos,” simple snack-style dishes served on a skewer. These are so popular that more than 90% of customers order them. In addition, you can enjoy local carpaccio, ceviche, local Kumihama mussels in white wine, Spanish tapas, Spanish wine, homemade sangria, and sake from local sake brewery, Shirasugi Sake Brewery. Don't forget about Chef Ono's original cheesecake "Ono Roll" to close out your dining experience.

I am originally from Amagasaki, Osaka, and have worked at hotels and restaurants in Osaka and Kyoto. When I first came to Kyotango, I was surprised by the delicious fish that’s really only available in this area and the freshly harvested vegetables, but I also experienced a bit of culture shock. In Kyotango, there are not many western-style restaurants like Spanish bars. I hope that locals and tourists alike will come to the area not only for iconic Japanese cuisine like sashimi, sushi and seafood bowls, but also for cuisine with a different approach, but still using the wonderful local ingredients we have here.
