Creative dishes that are inspired by the culture of Tango! A gastronomic inn with a view of Amanohashidate.
A property with a scenic view of Amanohashidate that Miyazu castle owner Hosokawa Yusai loved. Fifth generation Yasuhiro Kishiwada is the successor of this 100-year-old inn family business in Miyazu city. "Yusai" is a beautiful space, and has the unique sense that makes you feel the breath of the four seasons and the local area. The mantra here is "use what you have". From fresh fish shops to the farms and gardens of friends, locally purchased ingredients form the base of Yusai’s cuisine. Sometimes western elements and techniques are used in the cooking, but always with a foundation that conveys a sense of the local area. It attracts many people with its originality, with surprising and creative cuisine that make that really showcases the ingredients. The kaiseki-style cuisine can be enjoyed either by day-trippers, or for visitors spending the night, in which case you can take your time experiencing both the cuisine and the beautiful scenery.
I worked as a teacher at a cooking school in Osaka and opened Yusai 9 years ago. There is an ink painting of "Nihonmatsu" among the antiques collected by my grandfather, and the painting happened to include this location as well. So I thought is must be destiny to run Yusai. The painting is displayed in the hall for customers to look at when they come in. Whether it's a local celebration, a memorial service, or customers coming to spend the night, we meet a wide range of customer’s needs. The location is also wheelchair friendly.. Through cooking, I want you to feel the hearts of the people who created these ingredients and the depth of the Tango area’s nature.
