cost estimate: lunch 1,000-1,500 yen
Great location, closest to Amanohashidate! A restaurant in a long-established inn.
Akura is a restuarant located in Taikyorou, the Japanese inn closest to Amanohashidate. The architecture is traditional Japanese, and the restaurant is located right on the Amanohashidate canal, overlooking the water and pine trees. The dishes are centered around locally sourced seafood and produce, and include seafood rice bowls with seasonal ingredients. Because the restaurant is located close to the bountiful Sea of Japan, the seafood changes each season and features, among other catches, shellfish, rock oysters, and crabs. Taikyourou is an inn with a long history and has been a staple of the Amanohashidate area since the beginning of the Meiji era. With such a long history comes experience, and chefs that know how to create dishes that create harmony with the beautiful landscape.
